CONTINENT FIELD GUIDE / PLAYER COMMANDS
DayZ player commands on Continent
Continent includes a small set of chat commands for information, communication and the awkward moments when DayZ physics gets in the way. They are handled by the server, work with the normal game chat and require no client mod or additional download.
01
Using a command in DayZ chat
Open the normal DayZ chat, type a command and send it as you would send an ordinary message. Every command accepts either an exclamation mark or a forward slash. For example, !info and /info perform the same action.
Most replies are visible only to the player who used the command. Global chat is the exception because its purpose is to reach everyone currently connected. A command can be typed with a custom character name or with a default Survivor name.
If two connected players use exactly the same launcher name, the server cannot safely decide which character sent the chat message. Commands are temporarily unavailable to those two players until one of them reconnects with a unique name. This prevents one player from accidentally controlling a process started by another.
QUICK STARTType
!helpat any time to receive the current command list inside the game.
02
Help and current character information
The help command is the quickest reference when a command name is forgotten. The information command provides details that are useful while travelling or preparing for a restart without opening an external page.

!help
Available commands
Shows the command names and a short explanation for each one. The help response has a brief usage limit to prevent repeated chat messages.
!info
Character and server details
Shows your player name, Steam identity, map coordinates, current game date, hydration, energy, blood, health and the time remaining before the next planned restart.
03
When the map traps your character
DayZ terrain and buildings can occasionally leave a character unable to move. The !unstuck command starts a controlled search for the nearest suitable position and moves the character only after a sixty second countdown.
The delay makes the command unsuitable as an escape from another player. No other player may be within one hundred metres when the process begins or while it continues. The starting position is remembered, and the move is cancelled if the character travels more than three metres before the countdown ends.
- 01Remain where you are trapped
Use
!unstuckand wait while the server looks for a suitable destination. - 02Keep the area clear
The process stops if another player comes within one hundred metres.
- 03Do not move away
More than three metres of movement before the final check cancels the request.
- 04Move to the prepared position
After sixty seconds the server checks the destination again and moves the character if it remains safe.
A successful use begins a one hour waiting period before the command can be used again. A cancelled or failed search does not consume that successful use. If no safe destination can be found, the character remains in place and the server reports the failure.
04
Returning a vehicle upright
A vehicle resting on its side can be recovered with !flipcar. Leave the vehicle, stand a short distance in front of it and use the command. The nearest supported vehicle in front of the character is selected, then the server waits three seconds before it begins the correction.
Nobody may remain in the vehicle. Its position is recorded when the command starts and checked again before anything is changed. If the vehicle has moved, the request is cancelled. This avoids correcting a vehicle that has already started moving or is being handled by someone else.
Before using !flipcar
- Exit the vehicle completely
- Ask every passenger to get out
- Stand in front and within three metres
- Leave a little space between yourself and the vehicle
- Wait for the three second check to finish
- Do not push or move the vehicle during the check
The command recognises the standard cars, off road vehicles, covered trucks and motorboats used on Continent. It is intended to correct an overturned vehicle, not to move it through an obstacle or recover it from an inaccessible location.
05
Speaking beyond local chat range
Local voice and text remain the natural way to communicate with survivors nearby. Global chat is available when a message needs to reach the entire server, such as a general question, a warning or a conversation with players in another part of the map.
A global message can contain up to one hundred and sixty characters. Repeated spaces and hidden line breaks are cleaned before delivery, and words listed in the server chat filter are replaced. The player name shown with the message is taken from the connected character identity.
06
The daily Zombie Tax claim
!zombietax claims the daily reward currently configured for the server. The exact contents can change because each reward pool is controlled by the current server setup. The result may contain different items, quantities, remaining contents and condition.
The command can be used once per recorded day while the character is alive. A reward is placed into the character inventory when possible. If there is not enough room for an item, the server attempts to place it on the ground at the character position instead.
A claim is recorded only after at least one reward has been delivered. If the reward configuration is unavailable or nothing can be created, the command reports the problem rather than consuming the daily claim.
REMEMBERThe daily reward depends on the selected server. Use
!zombietaxafter joining the character that should receive it.

Common questions
Do player commands require a DayZ client mod?
No. They use the normal DayZ chat and are processed by the Continent server.
Can an unstuck request be used during a fight?
It is not designed for that purpose. The process takes sixty seconds, stops when another player is nearby and cancels when the character moves too far from the starting position.
Can flipcar move a vehicle while somebody is inside?
No. Every occupant must leave before the command starts, and the vehicle is checked again after the three second delay.
Why did my command not run with a default Survivor name?
A default name is accepted. The command is blocked only when another connected player has exactly the same launcher name, because the sender would be ambiguous.
Commands are only one part of the server ruleset. Review the DayZ base building and weekend raid rules before establishing a territory, and use the live server directory when choosing a world.
